Ain’t no mountain high enough!!

The first is me in the upper Barun valley with Lhotse (3rd highest mountain in the world) and Everest (just in the cloudy bit) in the background below.

A big thankyou to Gareth and all the staff at your Oldham branch.

I’ve just completed one of the toughest treks in Nepal, the Makalu/Everest section of the Great Himalaya Trail, crossing the Sherpani Pass West Coll and Amphu Labtsa passes. 3 weeks before I was due to leave England I sustained a knee injury playing hockey and thought my dream trip was over.

I can’t thank you enough for getting me back on my feet and able to complete the trek.

Exam success @ Hazel Grove!

Thursday, 16 June 2011

Dear Andy and the David Roberts Physio team at Hazel Grove!

On behalf of my daughter, I cannot ever thank you enough for the speedy and effective treatment you have provided to manage her writing hand/arm pain caused by excessive revision!! Without you, she would not have been able to revise for her maths exams at University (she writes it all down to remember it!).

As a support teacher in a sixth form college I am coming across more and more cases like my daughter’s, due to the fact possibly that with the advent of the computer, we write less than we used to! You can be sure I will be recommending your practice to my students.

With every best wish

Elaine O’Hanrahan

Thanks and Praise!!

Just wanted to say thank-you for the treatment received following my car accident and to praise Edel for the excellent job that she has done.

Although I was not in acute pain following the car crash it was apparent that my middle to lower back was quite badly hurt. Edel worked on the problem areas over eight sessions and, whilst on occasions it was quite painful and I occasionally felt sore afterwards, invariably a couple of days later the progress was evident. Each time I attended I felt less stiff and a bit stronger. This week, eight weeks on from the accident, I have played a round of golf (with no adverse reaction) and spent a day digging up the lawn at my “renovation property” (again without any reaction). I would not even have contemplated doing either of these things a few weeks back.

So thank-you for all your help and I would not hesitate to recommend Edel and David Roberts Physio.

Best Regards
Andrew

“A friendly and expert practice, that genuinely care”

Monday, 18 April 2011

After having attended several physios over the years for problems with  compressed vertebrae in my neck following a motorbike accident 31 years ago, which in time has developed into regular migraines and a constant barrage of general headaches . I was recommended to go to David Roberts Physiotherapy by a colleague at work. I booked an appointment initially for a sports massage.

Upon my arrival I was treated by a lady called Jo, who was very pleasant and friendly, and very good at the sport massage, leaving me feeling far better.

Upon discussion with Jo about my neck condition, she recommended that I see Gareth Wright who was also at their clinic. I doubted very much that he could do anything as over the years I had tried many physios, and all had failed to alleviate my problems.

But being ever the optimist, I booked an appointment with Gareth. On attending I found him to have a friendly manner.

After talking to me, I realised that he actually listened to my problems, and understood them. and within 4 visits he had made a huge difference. He did some manipulation as expected,  but also he explained to me in layman’s terms what had happened to my neck, and the best way to exercise it. Along with some handy self help techniques. Which I found extremely helpful have since had very few Migraines, and find a vast improvement and sleep far better now than for the past 30 years.

I would highly recommend David Roberts Physio to anyone as a friendly and expert practice. that genuinely care and take an interest in your problems.

Dave and Lawrence

David Roberts & Lawrence Dallaglio

Lawrence Dallaglio – Rugby World Cup winner and former England captain gives thanks and praise for our help at the Dallaglio Cycle slam:

Dave’s generosity in this process has been enormous, as he has dedicated both his time and the time of his staff to the cause. When you have sat on a bike for up to eight hours a day, you need an experienced physio to tend to your aches, pains and stiffness. The staggering part is that Dave and his teams aren’t just looking after the core riders, they are looking after all 250 cyclists. Dave is the best in the business and I am very grateful for his and his team’s help.

I cannot thank you enough – onwards and upwards for me from now on

Dear Mr Roberts

I would like to convey my thanks to Gareth, Claire and the girls on reception for their support during my sessions of physiotherapy, following my car accident in October 2009.

From the beginning of March 2010, when my sessions began, I have progressed as follows:

  1. Flexibility of my neck and should area, plus lower spine, was such that this restricted me from my everyday activities – even walking was an effort.  My yoga classes were difficult to follow and keep fit became an effort too.  My weight had increased by one stone, from October 2009, because of my lack of enthusiasm.
  2. As the sessions progressed, from day to day, I began to notice the difference in so much that from 3 March to 26 March, which was to be my final assessment, I was able to follow my exercise routine with so much more ease.  I have lost one and a half inches on my waist and one inch on the hips – bringing my body mass down to 28 from 31.  I have since joined ’slimmer’s World’ and my weight is now decreasing with the help of a health eating plan.

I will say that the above would not have been made possible had it not been for the help and support of yourselves at David Roberts Physiotherapy Clinic.

I cannot thank you enough – onwards and upwards for me from now on.

Yours sincerely

Yvonne (Oldham)

“Appointment made immediately and treatment began same day – all staff very helpful, bright and cheerful. Came out of the treatment room much improved and able to face the world again with a smile – husband very happy to see the transformation. Money well spent.”

jonjo-oneill-training1“I have seen more physio’s than I have had hot dinners over the years – some parts of me will last forever – because they are metal!

When I was eventually forced to undergo a knee replacement last year I was getting nowhere, despite the operation being a successful one – until that is, a friend recommended Dave Roberts.

It didn’t take long to work out that I needed some cajoling to improve the muscle strength around my new knee and he quickly set to work on making me do the correct exercises. As hard and often painful as it was his words of encouragement and positive attitude together with his skills as a physiotherapist made all the difference.

Just knowing that I was doing the ‘right’ thing gave me the confidence to continue in my hectic new life as a racehorse trainer here at Jackdaw’s Castle.”

“Having been a runner for thirty years or more, now as a super vet, fitness & a strong competitive ability are important to me.

In May 2006 in a fell race I suffered serious damage to my Achilles tendon. Expert treatment from Dave and Keith, at The Dave Roberts Physio Practice, together with a carefully crafted & monitored rehabilitation programme restored me to full health & a return to competitive running.

When several months later I developed a persistent calf muscle injury I returned to the Dave Roberts clinic where another member of staff spent quite some time working on the troublesome calf. The following morning I could scarcely believe the improvement. I was almost cured! One further session & I was running again.

I don’t mind which of Dave’s physios treats me, I know the standard of treatment will always be just as exceptional.“

“As a businessman with time restraints it’s vital that when I require physiotherapy treatment the provider not only offers a first class professional service but is mindful of the needs of the individual.

David Roberts and his staff offer that and much more.

A pre requisite for me is time flexibility and the early sessions, ie 7am, enable me to continue my business day uninterrupted, this is a major plus and one of the reasons that whenever I do have need for treatment I always turn to David and his team.”
