Six students from specialist sports college, Ashton on Mersey School in Sale, part of the Dean Trust, will be introduced to the world of physiotherapy at a careers day that aims to inspire the next generation of physiotherapists.
Gary Joplin, director of Sport and Physical Education and six students from Ashton-on-Mersey School, part of the Dean Trust, will attend an educational day led by two physiotherapists at David Roberts Physiotherapy. Sam Byrne, lead physiotherapist and Edel Comer, clinic manager, will run the event at their Northenden road clinic in Sale on Tuesday 9 October.
The morning will involve a general talk about a career in physiotherapy and give the students the opportunity to see a physiotherapist in action.
David Roberts, managing director of David Roberts Physiotherapy, said:
"We're launching this careers day to inspire the next generation of physiotherapists. Students will get a taste for this rewarding job that involves working with not just athletes but ordinary people too. My team will talk through what the role involves and treat a real model. We're planning to roll this educational day out to a number of schools across Trafford and aim to promote awareness of physiotherapy."
