Tell me about ankle joints
Like the knee joint, the ankle is vulnerable to numerous types of injury – from stepping off a kerb to playing football, cricket, rugby, tennis or any other sporting activity – the ankle takes a great deal of strain.
In general the ankle is surrounded by ligaments and tendons – it doesn’t have the luxury of being protected by strong muscles around the joint itself.
If you hurt your ankle it may swell up, become bruised and you may find it difficult and/or painful to put weight on it.
Call us immediately and we will be able to guide you through your symptoms – in general though it is advisable to follow our simple R.I.C.E programme as a precursor to getting professional treatment from our Physiotherapists.
