What are Cosmetic Injections?

Botox®, other anti-wrinkle products and dermal fillers have in recent years grown beyond their ‘Hollywood’ reputation to become an acceptable, mainstream solution to addressing and managing the natural ageing process. Over six million treatments are administered each year.

Botox® for lines and wrinkles

Botox® is a natural substance which when injected into the skin will inhibit muscle movement, preventing wrinkles from developing or worsening.

Botox® works by blocking the nerve signals to certain muscles, this relaxes them reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Botox® usually lasts between three and six months.

Dermal Fillers for loss of facial volume

Dermal fillers are used to replace facial volume lost as we age and to enhance facial features e.g. lips and cheeks.

With age the hyaluronic acid in the skin is depleted. Dermal fillers are made from pure hyaluronic acid which is injected into the troublesome area to give a fresh natural look.
