Heat therapy can come in many forms, ranging from a simple hot pack to Shortwave Diathermy treatment. The point at which heat, as a healing energy should be used will vary dependent on the specific injury and length of time you’ve had the injury.Full clinical assessment is always advised to guide best possible injury management.

Heat has several beneficial effects;

  • Pain relief
  • Reduce stiffness
  • Reduce muscle spasm
  • Improve blood flow to an area which promotes good healing.

Heat is regularly used in conjunction with our ‘hands on’ approach to your problem to aid good healing to your body’s injured tissues. We use it in different modalities specific to your injury. This could be Shortwave Diathermy, Infra-red Therapy or Ultrasound.
